0083: STARDUST MEMORIES one of the many sequels to the popular japanese
mecha based tv series Mobile Suit Gundam. Please feel free to use, copy,

Although the RX-78GP01 Gundam "Zephyranthes" mobile suit was intended to be
upgraded for use in space, the uprising of Zeon remnants in Year 0083 of the
Univeral Century Era moved this project up considerably. The GP01, nor being
properly calibrated for space combat, had been critically damaged by Zeon forces
when its pilot, Kou Uraki, had carelessly taken the mobile suit out into battle.
The damaged GP01 was immediately taken to Anaheim Electronics' Von Braun City
factory on the moon to be repaired and reconfigured for zero-gee use. Soon, the
rebuilt and improved RX-78GP01-Fb Gundam Full Vernian "Zephyranthes" was rolled
out and went through a rapid battery of test trials before being redeployed
aboard the Federation assault carrier Albion in pursuit of the stolen Gundam
GP02A. The Full Vernian GP01 was a tremendous improvement over its original
form, almost doubled in acceleration and with a marked increase in
maneuverability. It also featured an improved space-use version of its Core
Fighter II, incorporating the mobile suit's large thruster- and vernier-laden
backpack into its design.

*Destruction of the upper torso will render the arms, head, and backpack
inoperative. Destruction of the lower torso will render the legs inoperative.
Any additional damage done to the upper torso after it has been destroyed will
go to the Pilot's Compartment.
**Destroying one of the thrusters in atmosphere will ground Unit 1. While
destroying one in space will reduce thrust output by half.
***If the Core Fighter is destroyed, then the Gundam MS will also be rendered

WEAPON SYSTEMS:
All weapon systems are identical to the RX-78GP01 Gundam "Zephyranthes".
OPTIONAL HAND-TO-HAND COMBAT: Punch does 3D6 M.D., Body Block does 3D6
M.D., Kick does 4D6 M.D., Leap Kick does 5D6 M.D., Stomp does 3D6 M.D., but is
limited to targets no more than 16 feet tall. Body flip does 2D6 M.D. Pilots who
have experience with giant robots get full bonuses from Robot Basic combat
training.
SYSTEMS NOTE: The Full-Vernian is a mobile suit fully equipped for
maximum performance in space. Bonuses in space, +1 to strike & parry, +3 to
dodge. One extra attacks per melee in space. Unfortunatly all the verniers
placed on the Full-Vernian Gundam are practically useless for maneuverability in
atmospheric conditions, so the Full-Verinian not only gets no bonuses, but it
has a -2 to dodge & parry. (NOTE: These bonuses aren't cumulative with the
bonuses or penelties on the original Unit 1).
STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOR UNIT 1
OPTICAL TARGETING SYSTEM: Mobile Suits have very sophisticated optical
tracking systems to assist the pilot in targeting. This system provides the
pilot with a +2 to hit when using projectile or beam weapons. However, since the
tracking system is optical, the target must be IN DIRECT LINE OF SIGHT from the
MS in order to get the bonus.
COMBAT COMPUTER: Contains data on up to 120 different vehicles (both
friend and foe). Can call up and project data on the HUD screens in the cockpit.
"SKIN TOUCH" COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM: Mobile Suits have sensitive
microphones in their cockpits that can pick up a pilot's voice and project it to
vibrating devices on the surface of the hand. By grasping hands with another
Mobile Suit, the first mecha can transmit these vibrations to the other mecha.
Sensors on the other mecha translate these vibrations into sounds and projects
them via speakers in the cockpit. The result is a secure method of communication
between mecha that cannot be intercepted by enemy scanners.
LASER COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM: The Gundam has a laser based communications
system that allows the mecha to communicate over long distances. The only
disadvantage is that the mobile suits have to be looking at each other in order
communicate.
RADIO COMMUNICATIONS: Backup; usually doesn't work due to Minovski
interference.
EXPLOSIVE JOINTS: In event of severe damage to the Gundam, the torso
sections could be jettisoned allowing the pilot to escape in the core fighter.
COMPLETE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SYSTEM: Identical to the system
described on Pg. 214 of the Rifts RPG book.
