Background

"All ships, come about! Full power barrage in 15 seconds! Deploy the Dra-Cs to our front!" - Graddle

Following the end of the One Year War at the Battle of A Bao A Qu on 31 December of Year 0079 of the Universal Century Era, many remnants of the Zeon military went into exile, surviving and rebuilding their forces as best they could until they could renew the war against the Earth Federation. One remnant was the Delaz Fleet, and it built an exclusive new mobile suit with salvaged parts and mobile suit components. Called the MS-21C Dra-C, it was a space-only, fast interception mobile suit, armed only with a 40 mm vulcan gun on its right arm and a beam saber-equipped shield on the left arm. Its torso and arms were salvaged from a MS-06F2 Zaku II, but it mounted a pair of large propellant tanks in place of legs. Since it resembled a mobile armor as much as it did a mobile suit, the Dra-C was not equipped with an AMBAC (Active Mass Balance AutoControl) system, instead relying on main thrusters and a pair of large, vernier-laden shoulder pods for attitude control.

Vehicle Model: MS-21C Dra-C

SPEED:
Running: The legs on the the Dra-C are mainly used for landing and moving durin repairs, maximum is a ponderous 10 km/h.
Thruster Output: 20500kg x 3 (fin thrusters), 28000kg x 2 (feet)
Acceleration: 2.40 G
STATISTICAL DATA:
Height: 29.8 meters
Width:
Weight: 23.9 tons (standard), 49.0 tons (fully loaded)
Sensor Radius: 3200 meters
Physical Strength: Equal to a P.S. of 35
Cargo: The small size of the cockpit provides limited room for personal belongings.
Power Plant: Fusion Reactor w/ Minovski Shielding capable of generating 596kW of power.
Range: The generator can supply power for approximately 10 years before requiring replacement.

WEAPON SYSTEMS:

1. 40mm VULCAN GUN: This is the only ranged weapon available to the Dra-C. It's mainly used for defense.
Primary Purpose: Defense
Mega-Damage: 2d4x10 per 60 round burst
Range: 3000ft
Rate of Fire: Equal to the pilot's combined number of attacks.
Payload: 600 rounds per drum, enough for 10 bursts. Carries on extra drum in the shield.

2. SHIELD-MOUNTED BEAM SABER: Mounted on the Dra-C's shield is a beam saber powered directly by the Minovski Generator on the Mobile Suit. This extends the life on the Beam Saber, but does not make it indefinate. This is the primary weapon used on the Dra-C.
Primary Purpose: Melee Combat
Mega-Damage: 5d6x10 M.D.
Range: The blade has a range of 15-30 ft (5-10 m) and is adjustable.
Payload: The beam saber can function continuously for 5 minutes/300 seconds (20 melee rounds) before running out of power. Once discharged, the beam saber will recharge 1 second of power for every 15 seconds of charging.

3. OPTIONAL HAND-TO-HAND COMBAT: Punch does 1D6 M.D., Body Block does 1D6 M.D.. Pilots who have experience with giant robots get full bonuses from Robot Basic combat training.

4. SYSTEMS NOTE: The Dra-C is an agile space use mobile suit. In space the Dra-C is +3 to dodge, and +1 to initiative.

STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOR MOST MOBILE SUITS

OPTICAL TARGETING SYSTEM: Mobile Suits have very sophisticated optical tracking systems to assist the pilot in targeting. This system provides the pilot with a +2 to hit when using projectile or beam weapons. However, since the tracking system is optical, the target must be IN DIRECT LINE OF SIGHT from the MS in order to get the bonus.
COMBAT COMPUTER: Contains data on up to 120 different vehicles (both friend and foe). Can call up and project data on the HUD screens in the cockpit.
"SKIN TOUCH" COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM: Mobile Suits have sensitive microphones in their cockpits that can pick up a pilot's voice and project it to vibrating devices on the surface of the hand. By grasping hands with another Mobile Suit, the first mecha can transmit these vibrations to the other mecha. Sensors on the other mecha translate these vibrations into sounds and projects them via speakers in the cockpit. The result is a secure method of communication between mecha that cannot be intercepted by enemy scanners.
LASER COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM: The Dra-C has a laser based communications system that allows the mecha to communicate over long distances. The only disadvantage is that the mobile suits have to be looking at each other in order communicate.
RADIO COMMUNICATIONS: Backup; usually doesn't work due to Minovski interference.
COMPLETE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SYSTEM: Identical to the system described on Pg. 214 of the Rifts RPG book.
